Making Absences

My first solo exhibition, Making Absences was based on my memories of the six months spent living in Florence, Italy. Struck by the sense of both infinite landscape and immense interior spaces, this study began my interest in creating space through painting. Also critical to this work (it was college after all) was a study of Buddhism and Eastern Art, treating painting as a form of meditation; a nonagressive act.
