The Drip and The Line:
-
Paintings in the Raw by Eliza Thomas and Caroline Wright
-
This exhibition presents works on paper by Caroline Wright and Eliza Thomas, including recent series of abstract landscapes inspired by the artists’ travels to Sweden, West Texas, The Catskills and Colorado. This collaboration illustrates the power of their distinct styles, which vividly speak to one another. Their work is characterized by intuitive gestures that express the extraordinary and unexpected in nature, and evoke an intimate sense of place. Both artists reveal their love of the poetic, whether in the written word or the divine in nature. A complex range of emotions finds simple expression in their mark making and ultimately, their work encourages one to linger longer in a place of invisible refuge.
