where it started…

I was introduced to yoga through my parents, who had a meaningful Iyengar practice throughout my growing up. In high school, I began to attend Ashtanga classes with my dad and was quickly engrossed in the series, in the way my mind became focused yet calm, and in the transformation of my body and breath. The years since have brought many opportunities to practice with amazing teachers both in Austin and around the world. My parents introduced me to the renowned Iyengar instructor Gabriella Giubillaro on a trip to Italy, and I later moved to Florence to study with her. I relied on yoga to get me through the stress of college, and it opened up my artistic practice, as I learned to hush the ego and let the true Self speak. Through yoga, I have found a sense of home inside my body, a stable place to go throughout the transitions of life.
